Although my Guest Feature, Erica, inspires me in my personal style, we don’t necessarily have the same tastes when it comes to styling and putting together our own looks.
My take on autumn florals involves a play on jewel tones mixed with some essential staples of fall, with more of an emphasis on autumn, rather than a transition from summer to fall.
In this look, I take the summery floral print and transform it into a print for autumn by adding loosely fitted black cotton pants and a classic black trench coat. The burgundy colour of the sweater, with a splash of pink and gray floral, contrasts with the amount of dark tones in the look.
Then, to add a final pop of color, I added a fuchsia totebag to compliment the red and burgundy undertones of the outfit.
FInally, as the finishing touch, I grabbed my black wedge booties because let’s be honest, a great pair of booties in the fall is an essential to every wardrobe of a fashionista.
Although the weather has not really settled into the chilly, brisk staples of fall, my excitement can hardly be contained.
So, snuggle up to those warm mugs of hot chocolate and happy styling!
