Flowy Capes & Jewel Details

image

Hello fall! It’s finally starting to feel like autumn, with the weather getting colder and leaves starting to change color…which means I can shamelessly wear all the cape jackets I want and watch it catch the wind amongst its folds and billow away…(with a caramel salted mocha in hand of course <3)

I have been waiting for a good month now for the weather to get colder so that I could style this gorgeous cape. To emulate autumn, I paired the cape with a vibrant, mustard-yellow pants

image

Capes are making their way back in style—and why not? This essential fall outerwear piece can add “upper east side” charm to any outfit, giving the overall look a nice, classic finish

image

Making sure that I didn’t draw attention away from the cape or the vibrant pants, I kept my accessories simple—a black clutch with gold detailing and of course, my hot salted caramel mocha

I decided to layer a navy blue crew cut shirt with jewel detailing with a white jeweled collar shirt underneath the jacket to add a little sparkle and shine.

image

These jewel tones plus the jewel detailing is perfect for a more dressy occasion, not just for a casual stroll around Gramercy Park…(perhaps there will soon be a day to night occasions look)…

Finally, to finish off this look, I chose to pair my black patent, almond toe pumps—because these are always my go-to shoes for a slightly dressy, but not as formal, look.

Ivy League Inspired

image

Something has always drawn me to the ivy league, collegiate style. I love layering different pieces to get that classic, clean-cut collegiate look…and what better time to layer than in the fall?

image

image

The “Ivy League” prep look takes many dark, rich colors together to emphasize in a look. Here, I decided to work with a navy blue theme. The piece most highlighted by this look is the dark blue quilted jacket. In order contrast with the jacket, I decided to go with a light blue shirt and a white cable knit sweater.

Too dress up this look, I decided to accessorize with a crystal floral statement necklace. This piece has become one of my favorite necklaces because of how effortless it is to style and how quickly it can make a casual look more polished and refined

image

Finally, I completed this look with classic, black rain boots with gold buckle detailing. What’s important to me in any look are the details in each piece. I love having gold detailing throughout a whole look to really make sure that each of the pieces come together and compliment one another.

Be sure to keep warm and layer up Fashionistas!

Autumn’s Hues

image

Fall is in full bloom—and I am absolutely obsessed with fall blazers!

image

image

The changing leaves are an inspiring color palette to work with. I love pairing together a rich, warm bronze color with a deep burgundy. These two colors really encompass the essence of Autumn.

image

Mixing different textures in an outfit produces a nice, complex dimension to a look. Adding the crochet bottoms gives just a delicate touch of detail.

image

What I love about this particular blazer are the fine details that were put in, especially the gold engraved buttons.

image

Finally, I paired this outfit with a cute pair of military-style booties, one of the staples of fall.

Now all I’m missing now is a grande salted caramel mocha 🙂

Enjoy your walks through the brisk air of autumn fashionistas! Don’t forget to keep warm.
