Floral is always a good idea when it’s spring or summer. It’s definitely something that I can’t resist—especially when I see all the bright and beautiful flowers everywhere. This is by far one of my favorite floral prints for the summer. I love the overall navy background of the top, which highlights the pastel and neon floral patterns.

When wearing a very busy or statement top, I like to keep the bottoms more streamlined and simple. I usually like to choose one color from the top to feature on the bottoms. Here, I’ve chosen pastel pink color in the floral top and extended it to a light pink flare skirt. Choosing one color to highlight will help pull the overall look together.

Because I wanted all the attention to be focused on the gorgeous floral pattern, I made sure that my shoes and accessories were very simple. Here, I have finished the look with a pair of black and brown color block heels, some dainty bracelets and a gold wallet. The neutral tones of the accessories compliment the statement floral print.

I hope this helps all of you while styling your own floral tops for the summer!

Express Crop Top (Similar)J. Crew Geo Print Drawstring Pants | Steve Madden Dynemite Heels (Similar) | Box Clutch

Usually, when I think of drawstring pants, I immediately put together a casual outfit in my mind. I’ve actually stayed away from purchasing this type of pants because I don’t usually see myself wearing them out. However, when I came across this pair on the sales rack of J. Crew, I fell in love with the geometric print, the light, flowiness of the silhouette and thought—hey, maybe I’d give them a shot.

These pants are unlike any other pair I have ever owned. I usually stay away from non-fitted pants because I’m a very petite girl and usually get lost in all the material. However, these pants have a good ratio between fitted and flowy, so I’m able to maintain my figure despite the less form-fitting design.

The drawstring pants are high waisted as well—so I paired them with a fitted, crop top. The high waisted feature of the pants helps elongate the legs. Throw in a pair of your highest heels, and you’ll give everyone the illusion that your legs go on for miles! Not to mention, the heels dress up the entire look, making the outfit less casual and conventional.

As for accessories, I wanted all the attention to be focused on the geo print on the pants, so I paired with a simple box clutch with gold details, a black and gold statement ring, and a spike cuff bracelet. Now this is definitely an outfit that I would wear for a night out in the city or for drinks with the girls!

All Eyes on the Eyelet

Banana Republic Eyelet Peplum Top | J. Crew Factory Aztec Shorts (Similar)Kate Spade Earrings (Similar) | J. Crew Factory Link Bracelet | J. Crew Cuff Bracelet | Kate Spade Bow Ring | Mint Crochet Classic Toms

Happy Monday everyone! It was the perfect weather for a bike ride through Central Park this weekend! My boyfriend and I ended up riding a full lap around Central Park, with just a quick stop at the Reservoir for a small outfit shoot.

New trend that’s coming up for this summer: the eyelet. Similar to lace or crochet, this trend features a perforated pattern. I love how this particular top mixed together eyelet and peplum to create a whole new and unique style. Since the eyelet is a light and breathable pattern, it’s perfect for the hotter upcoming days this summer!

With a crisp white top, I always love to add a pop of color to make the outfit more fun. Mint is one of my favorite colors during the summer months. Here, I paired the top with aztec printed shorts and a pair of crochet Toms. The mint, mixed with the white, gives the outfit a crisp, clean cut look.

Even though we only stopped at the Reservoir for a few minutes, it was still the highlight of the bike ride. Central Park is so big, I don’t usually venture up so far north. It was nice being able to see the Reservoir for the first time, as well as the more unfamiliar parts of the park. Add in all the blooming cherry blossoms, and that makes the most beautiful little oasis right in the middle of New York.

I hope you all enjoyed your weekends!
